The track in Montreal, Canada was hit with some pretty bad weather on Friday. It rained and hailed with a lot of damage as a result. Several commentary boxes suffered holes in the roof, including Viaplay's.

Just an hour before the start of the first free practice session in Canada, the weather erupted. It rained hard and even hail fell. Practice did start on schedule, only the pitlane remained closed. So no cars could enter the track, while the organisers were working hard to make the track dry.

Due to the severe weather conditions, several commentary boxes were damaged. One such spot is the box where Viaplay's commentators record their commentary during the sessions. These boxes sit above the pit lane on the track.

GPBlog has learnt that there is a crack in the roof of Viaplay's box. The commentary box of RDS, a Canadian broadcaster, is in even worse shape. Footage on X shows Viaplay's box left empty.
