It is a wet first free practice session in Canada. Several drivers did take to the track in the harsh conditions. Yet in some places it still seems to be just a little too wet. Zhou Guanyu lost control of his car and hit the wall.

An hour before the start of the first free practice session, it came pouring out of the sky. The session did start on schedule, but the pitlane remained closed for a while. With just under forty minutes to go, the drivers were still able to test the track in Canada.

Most drivers did so on the intermediate tyre. So did Zhou Guanyu. He only drove through a slightly too wet section, causing him to lose control of his car and hit the wall with his rear tyre.
