Lando Norris will start from the second row for Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix, alongside his teammate Oscar Piastri. The two McLaren drivers qualified third and fourth on Saturday, but are still looking to aim high and work hard to secure a strong finishing position.

Since the Chinese Grand Prix, a McLaren driver has consistently appeared on the podium. The team have been particularly strong after bringing a host of upgrades in Miami, which saw Norris achieve his maiden F1 win. Speaking at Sunday's drivers parade, the British driver confirmed that he still has confidence in his car, and the team's abilities this weekend: "I'm excited. I mean many things can happen, especially with the weather as well. So, a bit unknown with what to expect, but the car has been good all weekend."

McLaren continue to aim high

"I think we should aim high. We will do our best. We are so close in qualifying, there was barely anything in it up to the top three," Norris said. The team are looking to maximise as much as they can out on the track, which has seen other top Constructor teams struggle, like Ferrari. "It's about the simple things," the McLaren driver began. "If it doesn't rain and nothing happens, it's about staying out of trouble, staying clean, just having a good strategy and a good first lap."

Both George Russell and Max Verstappen will start ahead of the two McLaren drivers, which doesn't faze Norris who still believes the team can perform well. "The pace in the car has been good this weekend. Maybe not quite as good as Mercedes, so we'll kind of see where we stack up against them, but the car has been good, so we will aim for a good position. If we can use each other and try to work well as a team, we have a good opportunity to go forward," he concluded.
