Verstappen overtakes Norris after safety car GP Canada

A safety car caused quite a stir at the Canadian Grand Prix. Lando Norris was leading the Grand Prix before the safety car, but because he was already past the pit lane when it was announced that a safety car was coming, the Briton could not immediately go in for a pit stop.

Logan Sargeant lost control of his car for the second time during the race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. The second time triggered the end of the race for the Williams driver's car, after which a safety car came out.

Verstappen past Norris

This was where Max Verstappen took advantage. The Dutchman did come in on time for a pit stop, taking the leading position. Norris fell back to third position after his pit stop, a lap later than the rest, right in front of his teammate, Oscar Piastri. Verstappen's race engineer was quick to point out the benefit on the team radio, remembering Miami.
