Stewards announce judgment after incident between Russell and Piastri
10 June at 01:17

George Russell and Oscar Piastri had an incident at the Canadian Grand Prix for which they both had yet to report to the stewards. Those stewards have now reached a verdict.

The decision by FIA stewards is to take no further action. Both Russell and Piastri, therefore, got away with the incident. The stewards stated that Russell was indeed in front of Piastri on entering the corner, but was unable to make the overtake before the apex. The shape of the corner allowed two drivers to continue without hitting each other.

The stewards stated that neither driver was entirely responsible for the incident and thus stated that no one would receive a penalty. Russell and Piastri were both able to continue on their way. Russell eventually caught up with Piastri and also beat teammate Lewis Hamilton in the battle for P3. Oscar Piastri fell back to P5.
