Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko has once again been very positive about Max Verstappen. The Dutchman, who won the Canadian Grand Prix last weekend, squeezes out the maximum every time, according to the Austrian. Speaking to OE24, Marko talks more about the 'Max factor'.

After several difficult races in Miami, Imola and Monaco, Verstappen finally managed to triumph at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Canada. The Dutchman struggled past George Russell (Mercedes) and Lando Norris (McLaren) in changing conditions to take first place. The retirement of Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc gave Verstappen a wide lead again in the standings.

Marko very pleased with Verstappen

Dr Marko, who can read and write with Verstappen, again praised his driver. The Austrian points out that without the Dutchman, it is very difficult for Red Bull to win races structurally with the cut-throat competition from Ferrari, McLaren and also Mercedes. "It was always clear to us that we would not win every race. It is good for us that the others cannot get consistency. If everything goes normally with us, Max will be at the front of the race," Marko said.

In doing so, Marko concluded that Red Bull also did not drop a stitch in a rainy race in Montreal. Strategically, according to Marko, the team from Milton Keynes looked ironclad. "Max has the overview of the race and the confidence to accelerate when needed. In addition, our team followed an absolutely correct strategy," Marko informed.
