16 confirmed former F1 drivers will take on the iconic Le Mans 24 hours this weekend. Robert Kubica has joined last year's winners, Ferrari, Mick Schumacher makes his Le Mans debut and 2009 F1 world champion Jenson Button returns to Le Mans. This year, Button will drive JOTA's Porsche 963. A huge difference to his 2023 ride, a one-off NASCAR project that was faster than some GT cars! This list compiles all the former F1 drivers competing in the 2024 Le Mans 24 Hours that you should be looking out for.

List of former F1 drivers in Le Mans 2024:

Jack Aitken - Made one race start for Williams in 2020. Driving for Cadillac in the Hypercar category.
Sebastien Bourdais - Made 27 Grand Prix starts for Toro Rosso in 2008-2009. Cadillac driver in hypercar class.
Sebastien Buemi - 55 Grand Prix starts for Toro Rosso between 2009 and 2011. Four-time Le Mans winner with Toyota.
Jenson Button - 2009 F1 world champion will drive for Hertz Team Jota in the Porsche 963.
Nyck de Vries - The 11-time Grand Prix starter will drive for Toyota Gazoo Racing in the hypercar category.
Antonio Giovinazzi - The former Alfa Romeo driver won Le Mans in 2023 with Ferrari and made 62 Grand Prix starts.
Romain Grosjean - F1 veteran Romain Grosjean will drive for Lamborghini in the hypercar category. He had 10 podium finishes in 179 starts. 
Brendon Hartley - 25 starts with Toro Rosso in 2017-18. Has previously won Le Mans twice and will drive for Toyota Gazoo Racing.
Kamui Kobayashi - Toyota Gazoo Racing driver who finished on the podium once in 75 starts. A previous Le Mans winner who also acts as team principal for Toyota. 
Robert Kubica - The 2008 Canadian Grand Prix winner is driving for Ferrari in 2024. The Pole made 99 GP starts in spells between 2006-2021. 
Daniil Kvyat - Former Toro Rosso and Red Bull driver finished on the podium three times in F1. Now a Lamborghini manufacturer driver in the hypercar class.
Andre Lotterer - Made one start in Spa 2014 for Caterham. The decorated sportscar driver will drive for Porsche in the hypercar category.
Mick Schumacher - The former Haas driver and son of Micheal Schumacher is driving for Alpine in the hypercar class, a team he has been linked with in F1. 
Will Stevens - The former Caterham and Marussia driver made 18 starts in 2014-15. Drives for Hertz Team Jota's Porsche entry and does testing work for McLaren
Stoffel Vandoorne - The Belgian former McLaren driver is a Peugeot works driver in the hypercar class. 
Jean-Eric Vergne - The Frenchman made 58 starts for Toro Rosso in 2012-2014 and is also a Peugeot hypercar driver.

These drivers are not on the entry list but are expected to race:

Paul Di Resta- The Scot made 58 starts for Force India from 2011-13. He started one Grand Prix for Williams in 2017 and is expected to drive for Peugeot like in 2023. 

Felipe Nasr - Porsche IMSA driver who drove for Sauber in 2014-15. Often forgotten, Nasr has had a good career outside of F1. 

The Le Mans 24 Hours will take place on the 15th and 16th of June. Practice is now underway for one of Motorsports' crown jewels.
