Lewis Hamilton was strongly criticised after the Canadian Grand Prix. Former Formula One world champion Jacques Villeneuve had harsh words for the seven-time world champion. According to the Canadian, Hamilton is a shadow of what he was a few years ago.

Hamilton is experiencing a disappointing season so far. In the first nine races, he did not manage a single podium finish. With just 55 points, placing him at eighth in the standings, it is by far Hamilton's worst season he has had in Formula 1.

Villeneuve sees Hamilton lagging behind

Former world champion Villeneuve has strongly criticised Hamilton when speaking to Best Payout Online Slots. According to the Canadian, his teammate George Russell, has been the better driver at Mercedes from day one. "George has been the better driver since the moment he joined Mercedes," Villeneuve reveals. "He has won so much and when you don't win, it can be boring and frustrating. The same thing happened when Daniel Ricciardo came to sit alongside Sebastian Vettel at Red Bull. Ricciardo looked great that year. Vettel was on par, suddenly didn't win and was trying to reinvent himself." Said the former Williams, BAR, Renault and Sauber driver.

Hamilton also had a tough race in Canada. For a while, it looked like the Briton was going to take his first podium of the season, but was overtaken just before the end by teammate Russell. After the race, Hamilton said that it was one of his worst weekends ever in the sport.
