Antonelli Italy have better chance of winning Euro 2024 than a seat for me

Kimi Antonelli laughs: 'That's more possible than a seat for me in '25'

With the UEFA Euro 2024 in full swing in football, drivers were asked the obvious question: 'Who will win the tournament?' Andrea Kimi Antonelli himself believes his country defending their title has a higher chance of happening than him getting a seat in Formula One in 2025.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli is currently being linked to Mercedes to replace Lewis Hamilton come 2025. The Italian since added a short quote about his future when talking about Euro 2024 in the paddock in Barcelona.

"It’s tough. Portugal is really strong, such as England and Spain, so these are my three main ones who can win," Antonelli began telling his prediction to Sky Sports. Then, after David Croft asked the youngster, which option is more possible, a seat for him in Formula One, or Italy winning the Euros. Antonelli replied laughingly: "Really, I would say Italy winning the Euros [has a higher chance]." For context, Italy currently have 3 points, and if they lose the next game to Croatia, it is possible that the Azzurri could be knocked out in the group stage phase already.

Antonelli's Prema teammate in F2, Oliver Bearman on the other hand did go with Italy for this tournament, but Abbi Pulling was there as a feeder series frontrunner to be confident in her country's team and say England.

Other drivers, such as Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso, decided to go with the simple answer. Ocon clearly named France by saying, "[Kylian Mbappé], he will wear a mask, he should be fine," while Alonso is "of course", predicting a fourth European title for the Spaniards.
