Russell shows Hamilton how it's done: 'I should've been there'
Lewis Hamilton was left to watch George Russell's start to the Spanish Grand Prix and wonders whether he would've been closer to Max Verstappen and Lando Norris if he had done something similar.
Russell made a very quick start at the Spanish Grand Prix and took the lead of the race in Barcelona. His teammate Lewis Hamilton started ahead of Russell but got away off the line poorly. Hamilton watched the footage with Verstappen and Norris prior to the podium.
Hamilton regrets his start
"That's where I should've been," Hamilton said when he saw Russell pull the move. Hamilton then wanted to highlight to Verstappen that he would've been closer had he not made a poor start by his own admission.
In the end, Hamilton worked his way back to the podium places. He made the move on Russell in the closing stages of the race on the soft tyres whilst Mercedes put Russell on hard tyres.
