It remains one of the most discussed topics in Formula 1: what will Adrian Newey do after his retirement from Red Bull Racing? The master designer himself said he was mostly ready for a holiday, which is exactly what he is currently doing.

Newey on holiday to decide F1 future

Newey recently shed some light on his future plans. In doing so, he indicated that he would probably stay in Formula 1, as he would otherwise miss his work too much. However, he would first enjoy a well-deserved holiday, as the technical mastermind said he was "a bit tired".

With his statement, he quoted Tom Hanks in the award-winning film Forrest Gump. His wife, Amanda Newey, shared a picture of her husband on X on Tuesday showing him wearing a t-shirt with the movie quote he referred to. With a beer in hand, a smiling Newey enjoys his well-earned holiday. " Adrian told you he was tired and needed a holiday," reads the caption.

Newey is being associated with half of the current F1 teams. Initially, he was strongly linked to Ferrari, but his manager Eddie Jordan denied that advanced talks were taking place with the Italian team. Williams team principal James Vowles admitted that he too is in talks with Newey and, in addition, Mercedes, McLaren and Aston Martin are also said to be interested. Alpine were also recently mentioned, where newly appointed Flavio Briatore is said to have set his sights on Newey.
