Krack explains why Aston Martin want to keep Stroll: 'Played key roles'
Mike Krack has said he is delighted to confirm Lance Stroll's contract extension at Aston Martin. The team boss has explained Stroll has played a key role in building the team over recent years. Stroll will partner Fernando Alonso for the 2025 and 2026.
Stroll joined the team in 2019 when they were known as Racing Point. He has achieved three podiums in his Formula 1 career so far. The Canadian has closed the gap on his two-time World Champion teammate Alonso in recent race weekends and has matched his points tally over the last four Grands Prix weekends. Krack has also explained how the work behind the scenes has impressed the boss.
Why Krack is keen to keep Stroll at Aston Martin
"He has played a key role in building this team. His technical feedback, alongside his committed simulator work, has helped contribute to the continuous development of the car each season," Krack said.
"The consistency and stability of both Lance and Fernando remaining with our team is a great platform to continue to realise our ambitions. We look forward to creating some more incredible memories and achieving further success together."
