Verstappen balks at bickering Jos and Horner

Verstappen balks at Jos and Horner conflict: 'Could have been avoided'

Max Verstappen is not happy with the situation that has arisen at Red Bull Racing. Jos Verstappen and Christian Horner are at odds with each other and, according to Max, this could have been avoided.

"Well, I mean, naturally, of course, it's not nice. I think not for myself, not for my dad, not for Christian, not for the team. Of course, you don't want these things to happen. I think my dad has been quite clear about, the reason behind it. And of course, I can understand his opinion on that," Verstappen revealed at the press conference after the sprint race.

Verstappen responds to conflict within Red Bull

"He gets asked to drive the car and finds out that he's not wanted to drive the car. Well, my dad actually doesn't care about driving the car, but he got asked and said, ‘Please, do it for the fans, Dutch fans, blah, blah, blah. Red Bull, we have a great relationship with, home track.’ So I understand. On the other hand, I'm here, of course, to focus on the performance side of things. So I want a good relationship with everyone. But of course, this scenario could have been avoided," Max continued.

Jos Verstappen was due to compete in the Legends Parade but learned that Christian Horner was doing everything he could to stop Jos from driving that car. When Jos had learned that, he announced that he would no longer participate in the Legends Parade. Christian Horner himself has denied that he vetoed it, although he did state that he was not in favour of the idea.
