Oliver Bearman finally took his first win in 2024. The Brit grabbed the lead of the sprint race at the start and did not relinquish it under great pressure from Pepe Marti. Paul Aron, the championship leader, finished in third place.

Oliver Bearman has not had much luck yet this season, but at the start of the sprint race, Prema's Briton was well away. Kush Maini had a much inferior start from first place and held up many drivers. This allowed Bearman to make an immediate gap to the competition behind him in the first few laps.

Will Bearman finally win an F2 race in 2024?

Kush Maini had a worse start and was lucky not to suffer a puncture when he steered into Pepe Marti at Turn 3. The Red Bull Junior Spaniard lost a piece of his front wing but would eventually get P2 from Maini.

From that second spot, Marti hunted down Bearman. The Campos driver came within a second of Bearman and was able to take advantage of DRS. Nevertheless, the Spaniard did not manage to launch an attack in the first half of the race. Paul Aron did. The championship leader quickly climbed to fourth place in the race.

The field also stayed close together for the podium spots. Maini held on for a long time but eventually had to let Aron through for the third spot. In that duel, Maini's teammate Gabriel Bartoleto also passed him. The Brazilian then went on the attack on Aron after being held up by his teammate.

In the closing stages, Marti failed to get there and Bearman held on. The Briton thus finally won again in Formula 2, for the first time in 2024. Marti finished on P2, ahead of Paul Aron.
