This is what Marko has to say about the investigation into Verstappen
- Corwin Kunst
Helmut Marko assumes Max Verstappen will be allowed to keep his pole position. The stewards have opened an investigation into the Red Bull Racing driver for allegedly driving unnecessarily slowly in the Red Bull Ring pit lane during qualifying.
"This is such a bureaucratic investigation. I cannot imagine that it has any consequences," Marko is quoted by German Motorsport-Magazin. Verstappen himself is unaware of any wrongdoing. According to the three-time world champion,"everyone there is doing the same thing".
Red Bull surprise
Verstappen was on top in every session this weekend in Austria so pole position should perhaps not be described as a surprise. What was a surprise though: the four-tenths gap to number two Lando Norris.
"We are also surprised [about that], but the whole team did an excellent job. Four tenths at this circuit is incredible. This was a great display of power!" jubilated the 81-year-old adviser to the Austrian formation.
