Chaos in F2 Austria Feature Race Bortoleto Antonelli Bearman

It was a chaotic Feature Race in Formula 2, with Gabriel Bortoleto winning in Austria ahead of Red Bull juniors Isack Hadjar and Pepe Marti. On the other hand, it was a terrible day for Prema Racing, as Andrea Kimi Antonelli failed to score points and Oliver Bearman had to retire his car.

Technical problems caused an odd start to the Feature Race in Formula 2, as pole sitter Dennis Hauger, Kush Maini and Zane Maloney all stalled too during the formation lap. Andrea Kimi Antonelli's car has also stalled and he could not move in the pit lane, with the engineers trying to help restarting the car. The Italian eventually finished in P14.

At the front, Gabriel Bortoleto claimed victory, as the Brazilian took the lead after a fantastic duel on laps three and four, when he overtook Joshua Durksen. After that, the Brazilian did not look back and won the race. This was his first win ever in the competition.

On an alternative strategy, Franco Colapinto finished in P2. The Argentinian left his pit stop late, and that worked out perfectly, as he could climb up to finish in second place, completing three overtakes on the final three laps. Isack Hadjar completed the podium, as Campos told Pepe Marti to let Hadjar pass because of the championship. By the end of the race, the Spaniard was faster, but Hadjar did not give up his position as Paul Aron was also near to the pair in P5. That made Marti very frustrated, and the Spaniard did not hide that over the team radio.
