Horner gets back at Silverstone after crash in Austria

Horner snaps back at Silverstone: 'In s*** if you can't sell tickets now'

Christian Horner has snapped back at the organisers of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. He jokingly remarks that they'll be able to sell their tickets now after tensions increased dramatically between Lando Norris and Max Verstappen at the Austrian Grand Prix.

Tickets are not yet sold out for 2024, which is unprecedented for Silverstone's previous years around this time. Some F1 fans have expressed their frustration with Silverstone for their price increases, which seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton supported when asked about it last weekend. Stuart Pringle, the managing director of Silverstone, believes that Red Bull has made it harder for the weekend to sell out.

The British Grand Prix comes at the end of a triple-header featuring races in Spain and Austria. British driver Lando Norris has been significantly closer to Max Verstappen in those races. In Austria, the two rivals engaged in a multi-lap duel which ended in tears. The two drivers made contact, and the fallout ruined both of their races.

Ticket sales boost

Norris suggested that he might lose some respect for Verstappen, depending on the three-time World Champions reaction. He will get a chance of getting revenge over Verstappen in front of Norris' home fans at Silverstone. Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner expects the fight to continue next weekend and was sure to make a sarcastic remark back at Pringle.

"I think the British Grand Prix is set to be a continuation of the theme that we've seen in the last few races. If they can't sell tickets now, then they're probably in the sh**," Horner told GPblog and others in Austria.
