Can Verstappen and Norris remain friends? Horner responds
Christian Horner firmly believes that Max Verstappen and Lando Norris can remain friends even after the incident in Austria. Horner stated this after the Austrian Grand Prix.
Lando Norris was furious with Max Verstappen after the Austrian Grand Prix. According to the Briton, Verstappen is responsible for the crash between the two and he hopes Verstappen will come up with an apology.
Will Norris and Verstappen remain friends?
When GPblog asked Horner after the race how the two, as good friends, will react to this, Horner stated with a wink. "Maybe they won't play paddle tomorrow, but I'm sure they'll talk about it. They are two hard racers. They'll talk about things. I've got no doubt about that."
Asked if drivers can be friends at this level, Horner said: "There are relationships between drivers that vary up and down the grid, and I think, ultimately, there's a respect there, and that's the most important thing. Inevitably friendships are put under pressure when you're competing hard."
Verstappen himself was very calm after the Grand Prix. He wanted to watch the incident back before he would comment on the moment. Verstappen did argue that Norris also had a part in the incident with his late 'divebombs'. According to Verstappen, that was not the right way to race either.
