Wolff disagrees with Stella over Verstappen incident

Andrea Stella felt that, as in 2021, Max Verstappen crossed the line with his actions on the track. Toto Wolff fought Max Verstappen with his team in 2021 but did not draw the comparison.

The McLaren team boss believed that Verstappen's actions in Austria were a consequence of the previous lack of action by stewards in 2021. According to Stella, Verstappen also went over the line too often in his battle with Lewis Hamilton but was allowed to do so at the time. As a result, that driving behaviour would not have been unlearned.

Wolff disagrees with Stella

Wolff battled with Mercedes against Verstappen in 2021 and was asked about those comments by Stella. "I don't think you can take this conclusion. No. It's been so long. You need two people to go through that corner and to be honest, I didn't see the incident,'' Wolff told GPblog and others in Austria.

"I first need to watch it before having an opinion but I wouldn't see that as a big consequence of 2021 not having been managed well to what has happened in 2024. I don't think they correlate," Wolff added.
