Red Bull Racing will bring an updates package to Silverstone. Helmut Marko is confident the team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez can strike back at the British Grand Prix after being under pressure for several Formula 1 races in a row.
Marko announces updates Red Bull at Silverstone
"The heat was huge in Austria - both in terms of atmosphere and on the track. It was very intense," Marko begins in conversation with OE24. He is happy that Red Bull managed to run out in the championship, but makes a comment. "A win would have been better, of course, but we increased our lead in both the drivers' and constructors' championship. That was the next best thing."
Ahead of the next F1 race, the British Grand Prix, Marko announced updates for Red Bull. "We will hit back there, we will bring an upgrade. Besides, I always say: our goal is the world title, and the Austrian GP helped us achieve that," the 81-year-old Austrian stressed.
The Red Bull advisor also responds to the suggestion that Verstappen might go to Mercedes next year. " Again: as long as Red Bull gives Max a car he can win with and there is a certain harmony in the team, he will always honour his contract," he says. And what if Mercedes can give him a winning car? "If, if, if ... That is not the case at the moment," Marko said.
