Leclerc facing Silverstone with little confidence: 'Will be a tough weekend'

Leclerc was ecstatic after his Grand Prix victory in Monaco, but since then results have left something to be desired. A lack of performance and some reliability problems at Ferrari have thrown the Monegasque back in the championship battle. The 26-year-old driver also foresees a difficult weekend at Silverstone.
Leclerc finished the race in Austria in 11th place after an incident at the start with Piastri put him out of the running. But even without the incident, it was clear that Leclerc was not having his best weekend. His Ferrari car struggles especially in high-speed corners, thus the five-time Grand Prix winner also expects struggles this weekend at Silverstone.
"I feel like it's going to be a difficult weekend, yes. If we look at the last three weekends, we've been struggling. So we don't have yet the magical solution," Leclerc told reporters in Austria.
Ferrari recently took a new downforce package to Barcelona, but the team has not reaped any benefits from that as yet. "The numbers show that we have made a step forward. However, there are other limitations that we need to look into to try and get rid of them," Leclerc said.
In the search for solutions to the balance problems, both Ferrari drivers sometimes take unorthodox measures. But either way, Leclerc hopes there will be improvement soon. "We configured the car in completely opposite ways today [Austrian Grand Prix], so I think there's a lot of things to learn from the two configurations. It didn't feel great on my side, but we'll look into it, compare and hopefully grow from that and improve," Leclerc concluded.
