Bearman can't believe his luck with Haas contract: 'I'm immensely proud'

What a week it is for Oliver Bearman: last week, he won the sprint race in Formula 2 in Austria, and a few days later, he was officially appointed as a Formula 1 driver. From next season, the Briton will be working for Haas F1, replacing Nico Hulkenberg. That fills the current Ferrari Academy driver with pride.
"It’s hard to put into words just how much this means to me," said Oliver Bearman. "To say out loud that I will be a Formula 1 driver for MoneyGram Haas F1 Team makes me so immensely proud. To be one of the very few people who get to do the thing what they dreamed of as a child is something truly incredible. To Gene, Ayao and everyone at Haas, thank you for believing in me and for trusting me to represent your team."
Bearman already in regular action on behalf of Haas
It is no surprise that Haas chose Bearman. The Brit already completed several free practice sessions for the American team, and he will do another at Silverstone on Friday. "I’ve really enjoyed working with everyone since the first time we met in Mexico and I can’t wait to enjoy this moment with them and hopefully many more in the future."
Finally, Bearman has a word of thanks to the people who have supported him in his journey towards Formula 1 over the last few years: "To Fred, Marco, Jock, Alessandro and everyone at the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy, quite simply, I wouldn’t be here without you. Thank you for preparing me since F4 for this incredible opportunity and know I will give it everything I have.”
