Lewis Hamilton has won the British Grand Prix eight times in his career, the most by any driver ever. Winning a home Grand Prix is a special feeling for every driver. Hamilton himself named his favourite memory from Silverstone.

Hamilton decided to go with the first time he won British Grand Prix, back in 2008. "I think 2008. I think it will always be probably the most special. My first Grand Prix win here and in the rain. And as my first, I'll say engagement or the beginning of the journey with the fans here." 16 years ago, on a rainy day, Hamilton manage to lap everyone, except for the two drivers on the podium, Nick Heidfeld and Rubens Barrichello. Heidfeld's gap to Hamilton was more than 68 seconds.

"I think, I don't know, I think it was just because it was a wet race and it was the trickiest conditions that a racing driver will experience. and just the level that I was able to operate that day, I think it was like 68 seconds I won the race by. So it was like far out did any other race that I think I probably have ever done, particularly in the rain," the seven-time world champion added.

Other than Hamilton's win in 2008, the one in 2021 also stands out, as one of the infamous crashes of that season with Max Verstappen happened at Silverstone. "2021 was still, I think, a great feeling. I think I'd been on such a long journey with the British fans and we have such great, really the best fans here," Hamilton said.
