What has happened so far this weekend?
Lando Norris topped both of Friday's practice sessions, but Saturday was George Russell's and Mercedes' day. Russell took his first pole at Silverstone, finishing ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton. Lando Norris completed an all-British top three, with championship leader Max Verstappen behind in fourth.
In Bahrain, it looked like Max Verstappen and Red Bull might once again be untouchable. However, their domination is now long gone. Five different winners from four different teams in 11 rounds has proven this. Carlos Sainz and Ferrari took victory in Australia after Verstappen retired. In Miami, a perfectly timed safety car helped Lando Norris take his maiden win as Verstappen struggled for pace. Monaco highlighted Red Bull's biggest issues, with Verstappen finishing sixth whilst Charles Leclerc took victory around his home streets. In Austria, Verstappen and Norris collided which gifted the race victory to George Russell and Mercedes.
What format will the British Grand Prix use?
After a sprint weekend in Austria, F1 will return to the traditional format for the British Grand Prix. This sees two practice sessions on Friday, with the third and final practice Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon will see qualifying to set the grid for Sunday's Grand Prix.
