Max Verstappen qualified fourth for the British Grand Prix. The Dutchman suffered some floor damage during the session, but was eventually able to join the front ranks. Given the conditions, the three-time world champion was still quite happy with his starting spot for the race. After qualifying, he told how difficult it was to drive around with a damaged car.

The gap to polesitter George Russell was just under four tenths at the end of Q3. Verstappen was not entirely dissatisfied with that result. "It was still not bad. I had a little moment at four, but honestly, they kept on repairing the floor, so my balance was shifting every lap. And then I was changing things on my wheel every lap to try and find a better compromise," Verstappen said.

Verstappen satisfied

Nevertheless, the Red Bull driver looks back on his qualifying session with a positive feeling. "So probably in some bits, we tipped it over the edge to try and compensate but it was still a good lap (last lap in Q3), I tried to really push it to the limit and tried to really use the track wherever I could because actually in a very high speed the load wasn't there, I was going slower in some corners there compared to practice but it the best we could with the damage I think," Verstappen concluded.
