Norris to help England at Euro 2024? McLaren advertise driver for the role
While the British Grand Prix was happening at Silverstone, England defeated Switzerland on penalties at Euro 2024. The Three Lions will now play against the Netherlands in the semi-final, with the winner awaiting Alonso's and Sainz's team, Spain. McLaren themselves also want to help out Gareth Southgate, promoting their drivers to appear on Wednesday evening.
Next to the track at Silverstone, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri played some football. McLaren shared some images of the drivers playing around on X (formerly known as Twitter), with the caption: "It's not too late to call them up, @England."

Unfortunately for manager Gareth Southgate, it is impossible to get Norris in. Once they played their first game against Serbia, the manager was then unable to make any changes to the squad. With Piastri, it would be even more difficult as he would also need to get a British citizenship.
Following the Grand Prix, Norris also talked about the game, together with Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. "I just let them do their thing. I'm sure for anyone in any sport, as soon as you have people trying to tell you what to do, it's not a nice thing. I just wish them the best."
