Russell and girlfriend attending euros finals

Russell at EURO's final with his Spanish girlfriend: 'One will be happy'

14 July at 15:30

George Russell has shared on Instagram that he will be attending the 2024 Euro's final alongside his girlfriend. On Sunday, England will take on Spain in the UEFA EURO 2024 final at 8PM BST at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.

George Russell demonstrated his strong performance across the triple header, finishing first on the podium in Austria, and starting on pole at home at Silverstone. In Austria, Russell sarcastically told GPblog and others: "I've got a question for the non-Brits. Do people who watch football in your own countries all believe they know how to manage the team better than the manager himself? Or is that just in England? Is that everywhere?"

At the British Grand Prix, Russell was forced to retire due to an issue with his car. Across the same weekend, England's football team performed well, beating Switzerland on penalties. They then won against the Netherlands on Wednesday to secure their place in the final. Russell has shared his support for the team across the tournament, by wearing a England football shirt at the British Grand Prix, as he watched the match alongside Lewis Hamilton and the fans.

Which F1 drivers are heading to the Euros?

On BBC News on Sunday morning, they shared a variety of clips from celebrities and sports people, including Russell who said, "The thing I love about this England squad is that they have had a game plan, stuck to it, super determined, and it has got us to the final." Now, he has shared on Instagram that he will be attending the game in Berlin alongside his girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt, who was born in Spain. This week, the pair also attended Wimbledon, as Russell shared pictures alongside Novak Djokovic. Today, Russell captioned the picture of him alongside his girlfriend saying: "To Berlin. Special to have both of our countries in the @euro2024 final. One of us will be happy tonight."

The Mercedes driver is not the only F1 driver to be attending. Lando Norris also revealed on Instagram that he would be at the match, as he posted on his story: "Ready for the boys to bring it home." So, can England bring it home tonight? There's not long left until we find out!
