Verstappen picks his favourite Red Bull cars: 'Very special and emotional'

Max Verstappen was a guest at the 'Goodwood Festival of Speed' for the first time last weekend. The Dutchman visited the racing festival to complete a demo in the RB16B, his first championship car. After the show, he was asked about his favourite Red Bull car during his time in Formula 1.

Verstappen has been racing on behalf of Red Bull since 2016, so he has had quite a few cars. The chances of the current car, the RB20 being among his favourites are slim. Although Verstappen leads the world championship, he recently complained frequently about the handling of his vehicle.

So which of the cars does Verstappen have special memories of? He is certainly clear about that: "The first is the RB12, which was a fantastic car to drive and I also got my first win with it. It was admittedly a bit slow on the straight, but that was not down to the car."

The Dutchman also pays tribute to two other cars in which he achieved success with. "In the RB16 I won my first championship, which was very special and emotional but the car was also nice to drive. Finally, I also have fond memories of the RB19, which was probably my most dominant car ever."
