Esteban Ocon has known for some time that he is leaving Alpine after the current season. Where the 27-year-old Frenchman will continue his career is not yet certain. The one-time Grand Prix winner has long been linked with Kevin Magnussen 's vacant seat at Haas F1. Ocon is also a candidate at Williams. Ocon has since even visited Williams ' factory in Grove, England.

At the former top team, Ocon has had a seat fit, so can GPblog reveal. This has not been done to immediately step in at Williams already, but as part of his deliberations of where he wants to continue his career after Alpine. It is rumoured in Italian media that Williams wanted to bring in Ocon as Logan Sargeant's replacement for the rest of the current season, but that Alpine blocked it. However, this rumour is incorrect.

Ocon is keeping a low profile

During the traditional media day, Ocon was asked about his future and whether he had already made a decision on it. "There is little more to say on this subject. Of course, we are still working on these things. And you are the first to hear as soon as it is finalised. I hope it will be settled soon," Ocon said.

Ocon is not the only candidate at Williams. The team has never made a secret of being keen to partner Carlos Sainz, but that option seems less and less obvious. Team boss James Vowles has also held talks with Valtteri Bottas.
