Lando Norris found his pace in free practice two as he topped the timing sheets in Friday's second session at the Hungarian Grand Prix. It was promising stuff from the Brit who finished two-tenths clear of Max Verstappen, who took his second P2 on Friday in Budapest. Carlos Sainz backed up his P1 in FP1 with third place in the second free practice session.

Leclerc brings out first red flag of race weekend

Just after 15 minutes had gone in the second session, the first red flag of the weekend came out, and it was for Charles Leclerc.

After a solid start for the Prancing Horse in FP1, it disappointingly ended Leclerc's Friday. Coming into the fast lefthander up the hill entering sector two, the Monegasque driver got his wheels on the kerb and spun his Ferrari, hitting the barriers with a hefty impact and damaging a newly modified floor upgrade that improved the performance of the car.

It was Sergio Perez who showed the fastest pace in the first part of the session before the red flag delayed the session The Mexican sat in P1 after setting the fastest times on the yellow-walled medium tyres.

However, when the soft tyres were put on, it was George Russell and Mercedes who were the first to set the pace. However, an impressive lap from Norris meant he was out of reach from the rest of the grid. Verstappen was the closest, but he could only get two-tenths away from the 24-year-old. Sainz was a tenth behind the Dutchman as the chequered flag fell.
