Red Bull performs miracle and gets Perez on the grid
21 July at 13:09

Red Bull Racing and Visa Cash App RB worked hard to get Sergio Perez and Yuki Tsunoda on the grid for the Hungarian Grand Prix, respectively. The FIA revealed a huge list of parts that needed to be replaced by both teams.

For Sergio Perez, qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix ended after Q1. The Mexican already had a time on the clock, but crashed into the wall and so could not continue. His time eventually proved not good enough to advance to Q2.

Still, Perez will start the race from P16, as his team was able to fully repair the car without using new parts. As a result, Perez is not obliged to start from the pit lane. For the Grand Prix, Perez has, among other things, a different power unit in his car. All parts of the power unit have been replaced, but since it is a previously used engine, this is within the rules.

The list accompanying Yuki Tsunoda's car is also immense. The Japanese driver crashed in Q3 and it can be called a miracle that he is allowed to start from P10. Tsunoda will also start with a previously used Honda engine.
