Lando Norris was happy for the team after the Hungarian Grand Prix. Just before the end of the race, the Briton had to give the first spot to his teammate after some strategic shuffling at McLaren. After the race, Norris reacted as follows.

"I'm very happy for the team and Oscar. It's his first win, so a special moment," Norris told F1TV. However, the one-time race winner does point out that it was tough just before the end, leaving P1 to Piastri. "Yes, it was tough. But I also know what Oscar has done for me in the past. A win means everything. If I had put myself in his shoes, I would have understood it too because every driver is selfish."

After the start, Piastri grabbed P1 but Norris snatched it back through an undercut. McLaren then requested Norris to give the first spot back to his teammate, but he did not answer. In the end, Norris succumbed anyway and gave victory to Piastri a few laps before victory.
