Alpine experienced another dramatic weekend at the Hungaroring. For the Hungarian Grand Prix, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly qualified 19th and 20th and in the race yet another Alpine broke down due to hydraulic problems. Gasly was disappointed with the French racing team's performance afterwards.

Gasly disappointed: 'Have too many problems'

Everything seems to be going wrong at Alpine this season. The team had a slow start to the season, moreover, Gasly and Ocon crashed into each other at the Monaco GP, putting the spotlight on the French for the wrong reason. While they seemed to find their way back with some upgrades to the car, in Hungary, Gasly and Ocon were nowhere to be seen. In the process, Gasly had to retire his car.

"I am extremely disappointed. We have this issue but there's just too many issues at the moment. Today hydraulics, yesterday was strategy, the weekend before was the gearbox, I didn't race. I know we're just a lot better than that. I know the team is a lot stronger than that and we've got to be more on top of everything because at the moment we don't give ourselves to capitalise on any chances," Gasly told GPblog and others.

In doing so, Gasly demands more from himself, but also from his team. "Last two clearly haven't been good at all in terms of the problems and issues we're having. There is some performance in the car, there is obviously more to come and we need more. We should put ourselves in a position to fight for any position."
