Esteban Ocon will definitely drive for Haas F1 from 2025. The Frenchman will join the American team with Oliver Bearman, who has already been signed. In recent seasons, Ocon competed for Alpine and their predecessor Renault. With that team, the one-time Grand Prix winner had to leave after internal struggles.

Ocon's move to Haas F1 had been in the air for some time. Audi was also reportedly angling for the Frenchman's services, but Ocon sees more prospects with Gene Haas' team. So, in any case, Ocon is leaving Alpine, where he generated frustration several times in recent months with his driving.

For instance, team boss Bruno Famin was 'not amused' by the way Ocon eliminated himself and almost his teammate Pierre Gasly in Monaco. Shortly afterwards, both parties announced 'by mutual agreement' to part ways after this season. It is still unclear who will succeed Ocon at Alpine.

Magnussen's role in Formula 1 appears to be over

Ocon will replace Kevin Magnussen at the American team Haas, whose future in Formula 1 is now very uncertain. Only Stake F1 (Sauber), Williams, Alpine, Visa Cash App RB, and Mercedes still have seats available for next season. Magnussen is not linked to any of these teams as a possible replacement.
