26 July at 15:40

Paul Aron has qualified on pole position for the F2 feature race with, Gabriel Bortoleto second and Isack Hadjar third. O'Sullivan will start on pole for the sprint race after qualifying in 10th place.

Yellow flags soon appeared during the F2 qualifying session, which eventually became a red flag. The car of the French Victor Martins was stationary and had to be removed. After a few minutes, the session could be continued.

Good day for Antonelli

As every weekend, all eyes were on Andrea Kimi Antonelli. The Italian managed to win the feature race of Formula 2 in Hungary. The young driver has been linked to the seat left vacant by Lewis Hamilton. During qualifying in Spa, he set the fifth fastest time. His teammate and upcoming Haas driver, Oliver Bearman, set the fifteenth-fastest time in qualifying.

The session was fairly standard except for the red flag. There were no dramatic scenes at the end as seen in F3 qualifying earlier. In the end, it was Aron who set the fastest time and will start the feature race from first place. Bortoleto set the second fastest time and Hadjar the third fastest time. In the sprint race on Saturday, there will be a reversed grid as usual.
