Perez angry with Red Bull on the radio: 'Compromised ourselves too much'
Sergio Perez was angry with Red Bull on the team radio and provided some feedback to Red Bull over the team radio. Perez found himself under pressure in the first part of qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix, but the Red Bull driver pulled himself up the leaderboard and eventually finished around two-tenths shy of Max Verstappen's best time.
Qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix started with a wet track, so the intermediate tyres were used. After the Hungarian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen received plenty of criticism for his radio messages. Now, it's Perez's turn to give feedback to the team.
"Yeah, sh** tyre wasn't ready. We compromised ourselves too much. Just keep it in mind," Perez told Hugh Bird, his race engineer, over the radio. Bird then acknowledged it. "Yep, everyone apart from Max fitted a fresh set, and the fresh set was going faster," Bird replied.
Perez agreed: "Yeah, I think I lacked a bit of temperature." You can follow qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix with GPblog.com's liveblog!
