Verstappen reveals main goal for Belgium GP: 'We need to get that right'

Red Bull Racing had an excellent qualifying session on Saturday for the Belgian Grand Prix with first and third places for Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, respectively, although the former will have to start ten places further down the grid due to a grid penalty. However, conditions at a wet Spa-Francorchamps were completely different from what they will be on Sunday, Verstappen too realises.
Verstappen on expectations GP Belgium
After qualifying, Verstappen talks about his expectations for Sunday's Formula 1 race. The goal? "That we get good points again and hopefully that we are good on the tyres," the Red Bull driver told a select group of Dutch media, including GPblog.
Strategically, though, there is still a challenge for Verstappen's team. "We obviously have a set of less hard tyres than most. Hopefully, that won't be a problem for the race," he continued. So is a one-stop the most logical option at this track and in these conditions? "Not always," replies Verstappen with a smile.
Sergio Perez, especially given his string of disappointing results of late, had a strong qualifying session on Saturday. However, Verstappen does not immediately dare to conclude that this represents a step forward in terms of balance. "I think the car was good in the rain. He obviously had an excellent qualifying. The gap is still six-tenths, but for him, it was just a good quali and on Sunday we will see," Verstappen concluded.
