Hamilton supports Russell after Belgian Grand Prix heartbreak

Lewis Hamilton has sent George Russell a message of support after the younger Brit was stripped of his victory in Belgium. Instead, it was Hamilton who walked away with the winners trophy following the Belgian Grand Prix

Via social media, the driver who crossed the finish line first at Spa, reacted to his disqualification for the race. The British driver summed up his emotion with "heartbreaking". This decision came after recent issues in Silverstone (retirement due to a car fault) and Hungary (fuel mistake in qualifying). Though Russell did get fortunate in Austria, where he benefited from the crash between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris to win.

How did Hamilton support his teammate?

On the Instagram post, Hamilton offered some support and advice. "Keep your head up, there will be many more great moments for you ahead. Let's keep pushing," Hamilton commented.

Alex Albon also commented on the post with three heart emojis, and the post was liked by Russell's girlfriend, Carmen Montero Mundt. She shared a heartbroken emoji on her Instagram story.
