F1 Power Rankings Verstappen Hamilton Russell

Hamilton tops F1 Power Rankings in Belgium by some distance

Lewis Hamilton is rated best by the F1 Power Rankings jury for his performance at the Belgian Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver scored higher than his teammate George Russell, who won the race but was disqualified. Max Verstappen dropped down to P6.

Hamilton voted the best in Belgium

Verstappen, who drove to pole position on Saturday but had to start from 11th after a grid penalty, crossed the finish line in fifth place. That eventually turned into fourth thanks to Russell's disqualification. This put the Dutchman further ahead of Lando Norris in the championship, yet the panel was not particularly impressed with his performance. Verstappen has to make do with a 7.4.

Just ahead of Verstappen is Daniel Ricciardo with a 7.6. Charles Leclerc gets a good rating with an 8.4, just slightly lower than Oscar Piastri's 8.6. The latter managed to challenge the Mercedes drivers in the closing stages of the race but could not make an overtaking attempt.

The original race winner, Russell, is in second place with an 8.6. Russell dared to go for a one-stop, being the only driver in the field. This initially earned him victory, but it was taken away from him again when it emerged that his Mercedes was 1.5 kilos too light. Hamilton finished in a strong first place in the Power Rankings with a score of 9.2.
