11 August at 22:00

Formula 1's summer break continues, but there have been some surprising revolutions during the middle of the week. Oscar Piastri revealed he has been racing with a broken rib, Lando Norris admitted his shock at McLaren's pace, and GPblog revealed the true story behind the OnlyFans hoax.

Broken bones

Oscar Piastri has revealed in passing that he won his first Formula 1 race, the Hungarian Grand Prix, with a broken rib. He shared a picture dated 8 July 2024 - the Monday after the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. That is just under two weeks before he secured his first victory at the Hungaroring. So Piastri is still recovering during the double-header before the summer break. After his victory in Hungary, the 23-year-old Australian added a second-place finish to his record at Spa-Francorchamps. Check out the picture here.

Norris shocked

McLaren are hunting down Red Bull Racing with 10 Grand Prix weekends remaining in the 2024 Formula 1 season when it restarts at the end of August. Lando Norris has admitted his shock and surprise by the British team's position while Oscar Piastri warns Red Bull about a key strength on the horizon for McLaren. Could this be seen as a bit of a warning for Red Bull and Max Verstappen?

Pitlane horror for Jos Verstappen

Flavio Briatore returned to Alpine this season, after he was suspended from the sport because of the notorious 'Crashgate' incident that happened at the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix. Back in 1994, when the team were called Benetton, Briatore was involved in another major incident, when Jos Verstappen's Benetton caught fire at the Hockenheimring. He reflected on this.
