Debate | Is Kyle Larson a better driver than Max Verstappen?
A couple of days ago, NASCAR Cup Series driver Kyle Larson has declared that he is a better driver than the current Formula One champion, Max Verstappen. Could that happen to be the case? GPblog therefore presents you the question: Which driver is better, Max Verstappen or Kyle Larson?
Kyle Larson is an accomplished driver in his own right. The American is a frontrunner in the NASCAR Cup Series, and also won the title back in 2021 and has 27 wins to his name in the series. He also took victory lane 15 times in the Xfinity and 3 times in the Truck Series. On the other hand, Max Verstappen has three F1 titles, 61 victories and 40 pole positions in his competition.
It is clear that both drivers are frontrunners in F1 and NASCAR respectively. On the other hand, there is a big difference in their competitions. Formula One is more dependent on competition between constructors, and a single team could more easily run away with the title, unlike in NASCAR, where teams are more balanced out. Moreover, in NASCAR, every season, a single race decides the champion after a so-called playoffs.
Larson is considered to be one of the biggest talents the country has to offer, and also took part in this year's Indy 500, where he finished 18th however was the Rookie of the Year.
It is unlikely that there will be equal grounds where these two drivers could face off and something Guenther Steiner underlined in an exclusive interview with GPblog is that in their respective competitions, they clearly have an advantage against each other. Therefore the question is: Who is a better driver, Kyle Larson or Max Verstappen? Vote in the poll below, and share your opinion in the comment section!
