Although Helmut Marko isn't known as the nicest towards drivers, he still has praise for those that he likes. One of those drivers the Austrian has previously praised is Mick Schumacher. Marko would love to see the German return to F1 and points to two teams where he thinks it could happen.

Expectations towards Mick Schumacher have always been incredibly high because of his name. As the son of Michael Schumacher, a seven-time world champion, he has not always had it easy. The German enjoyed success in Formula 3 and Formula 2 and made his debut in Formula 1 for Haas in 2021. After two seasons, he was unfortunately shown the door.

Marko: Schumacher deserves a second F1 opportunity

Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko speaks highly of Schumacher in an interview with F1-Insider.com. "Mick is one of the most polite and nicest people in the whole paddock, which is rather a disadvantage for him. He also has the handicap of a big name.'' Marko explained that the German has already proven himself for another opportunity through his success in the junior classes.

Marko says there is no specific reason why Schumacher has not been able to drive for Red Bull. He became part of Ferrari's junior programme and then went to Mercedes, so the two simply never crossed over.

Schumacher deserves another chance in Formula 1, according to the Austrian. ''At Haas, he was not treated fairly by Netflix superstar Günther Steiner. That is a fact. Once you are out, it will be difficult. But behind the scenes, you only hear good things about him. I think Alpine and Audi are seriously considering him. I would grant him that because he deserves it,'' Marko concluded.
