Fernando Alonso is currently the most experienced driver on the Formula One grid. The Spaniard is at the moment 43 years old, but also has a contract already signed for the next to seasons with Aston Martin. The Spaniard talked about his motivation to continue in the competition.

"I started racing at three years old. I don’t know any other life. I still have the same motivation," the two-time world champion talked about his passion in motorsports in a video created by Valvoline. Alonso now has competed for 40 years continuously, but also has a deal for two more years already secured. He is currently in his 21st season in F1, while he also won the 24h of Le Mans, and competed at the Indy 500 and also at the Dakar Rally.

"I still love that adrenaline of driving the fastest cars in the world. It’s a never ending search for perfection. I keep adapting and keep driving to get better and better," the Spaniard underlined his dedication to succeed in the sport.

Following Aston Martin's great start to 2023, where Fernando Alonso finished on the podium six times during the first eight Grands Prix, the British team since fell back in the constuctors' championship. The Spaniard's team sits at the moment fifth in the standings, 193 points behind Mercedes. Alonso himself managed to finish fourth in the drivers' standings, but at the moment, he is in ninth position. He is confidently above his rivals, but has a gap to the top four teams' drivers.
