Lewis Hamilton has been reflecting after having an emotional experience during the summer break. Once again, Hamilton speaks up about the issues faced around the world. The seven-time world champion has been travelling around Africa over the summer, documenting his experiences throughout. Most recently, Hamilton visited Mozambique and was moved by his most recent trip, which he described as 'not an experience I take lightly'.

The 105-time Grand Prix winner shared his latest experience on Instagram. Previously, Lewis Hamilton visited Senegal and Morocco, showing fans what he got up to in those countries. Most recently, Hamilton visited the Maratane Refugee Settlement in the North of Mozambique, which appeared to impact him emotionally.

In the shared photos, the Brit can be seen meeting refugees, including students. He learned about their lives and their teachers.

"Grateful for the opportunity to meet with refugees living in Maratane Refugee Settlement in northern Mozambique. The country is home to more than 710,000 displaced people, including 25,000 refugees. Being able to meet some of these people is not an experience I take lightly. Whether they’ve been displaced due to conflict or natural disasters, they strive for themselves, their families, and their histories every day," Hamilton explained.

"The strength, spirit, and resilience of the people I met will stick with me for the rest of my life, as will the compassion of those working on the ground to defend and protect their lives every day. All of our lives are connected, and we share everything. Joy and pain, triumph and struggle. Our support for one another has to extend globally. Refugees [the UN Refugee Agency] is making a difference by providing humanitarian assistance and focusing on long-term support like education, helping people realise their full potential."

Hamilton has often spoken out about global issues across the world, including supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. Hamilton will be returning to racing action in Zandvoort this weekend, albeit after recharging himself over the summer in a unique but equally incredible way.
