Dutch Grand Prix weekend information starts to leak
20 August at 22:00

Hype is building quickly for the Dutch Grand Prix weekend in Zandvoort, and little snippets of information have started to emerge. This includes driver information and viewpoints, plus who is replacing who for the manadatory rookie practice sessions. Here's what has happened today.

Bottas set to miss FP1 at the 2024 Dutch Grand Prix weekend

Formula 1 teams and drivers will return from their summer holidays, including Valtteri Bottas. The Finnish Formula 1 driver has been enjoying cycling adventures with his girlfriend, Tiffany Cromwell, during the summer break. But for Bottas, he will get an extra hour of summer break because he will miss the first free practice. Robert Shwartzman will replace Bottas as part of the team's mandatory rookie practice sessions. Here's the full story.

Wolff has his eyes on the championship leaders

The Mercedes team showed a strong upward trend in results at the end of the first half of the season. Lewis Hamilton won in England and Belgium and George Russell won in Austria. Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff is therefore looking forward to the second half of the season and the Grand Prix at Zandvoort. He has eyes on the top of the World Championship.

Perez gives first reaction after (temporary) change to his race engineer

For Sergio Perez, the first day of the summer break was particularly exciting. The day after the Belgian Grand Prix, the Mexican heard whether he could stay on as Max Verstappen's team-mate at Red Bull Racing for the time being. The answer was positive for him, so next weekend, the veteran will compete at the Dutch Grand Prix. However, Perez will have to do without his regular race engineer, Hugh Bird. Check out his first reaction.

Updates at Zandvoort

The F1 teams' factories were closed for 14 consecutive days during the summer break, so there was little opportunity to work on new parts. Nevertheless, some teams probably have found improvement points and solutions during the short period that they were allowed to work on their cars. The Visa Cash App RB team will also introduce some updates for the Dutch Grand Prix, the team announced.
