The third and final free practice session of the weekend will take place on the Zandvoort circuit this morning. There is a chance that FP3 for the Dutch Grand Prix might not be driven on slick tyres, which saves the team's sets of tyres for qualifying and the race. That offers an advantage for Max Verstappen, but will also help some of the home hero's rivals, too.

Thanks in part to the wet conditions in the first free practice, drivers still have many sets of new tyres in the back of their garage. Max Verstappen is the only one with two brand-new sets of hard tyres, whereas everyone else has to make do with a single set of hards.

Greater tyre wear expected for the race

A two-stop strategy is expected to be the fastest during Sunday's race with the use of the hard tyre. Zandvoort wears tyres significantly due to the banking of the circuit, meaning the hards, which last longest, are expected to be the best race tyres. Verstappen also has two new sets of mediums and five sets of softs. Everyone else has six or even seven sets of softs remaining.

Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz (both Ferrari) and Nico Hulkenberg all have one set of the hard tyres, one set of mediums and seven sets of softs. So, they seem to be gearing up to do well in qualifying.
