Nico Hulkenberg must report to the stewards after the third free practice session of the Dutch Formula 1 weekend to explain his decision during the practice session. With a broken front wing, the German drove back to the pit box, but according to the FIA, this was a dangerous action. The stewards will make a decision soon.
It was quite a wet track at Zandvoort during the third practice session of the weekend on Saturday morning. Hulkenberg skidded off the track and damaged his car. His front wing, in particular, was badly damaged. So, with a broken wing, he returned to the pit lane. Watch footage of Hulkenberg slipping away here. The stewards' verdict is expected soon.
Hulkenberg had a similar problem on Friday. He reported on the radio after his crash on Saturday: "It's again the same as yesterday. I touched the brake and I lock up." Hulkenberg was able to get out of the barrier and carry on driving, but his front wing was completely damaged. The American team will not be able to use that part for the rest of the weekend.
