Perez fumes with Hamilton during qualifying Dutch Grand Prix

Sergio Perez is angry with Lewis Hamilton. During the qualifying session for the Dutch Grand Prix, the Mexican felt he was impeded by the seven-time World Champion. As a result, Perez sent an angry radio message aimed towards Hamilton. The stewards noted in the incident which occurred early in Q1. Perez ended up topping Q1, but had to use a second set of soft tyres to do so.

Why is Perez angry with Hamilton?

The Mexican was driving around the track in qualifying when he felt impeded by Hamilton. The Mercedes driver moved slightly to the right, in the direction of Perez who then had to brake.

Perez sent an angry radio message: "What the f**k is this idiot doing? F**k!" Hamilton knew there was a problem immediately and got his defence in over the radio by saying: "I was well out of his way." His race engineer, Peter Bonnington, replied by calming Hamilton down. "No sweat," Bono said.

The stewards noted the incident. Perez felt hard done by because it meant he had to use a second set of soft tyres. The Red Bull driver is under pressure as his future at the team remains in doubt. Earlier in the week, Helmut Marko suggested that Liam Lawson will get a seat of some kind in 2025.

Qualifying will continue with the likes of Mercedes, McLaren and Red Bull Racing in contention for pole position. Make sure you don't miss any of the action with the liveblog
