Haas can leave the Netherlands after Uralkali payment confirmation
- Cas van de Kleut
Haas has been given permission to leave the Netherlands. The team have confirmed this, meaning they can head to Italy in preparation for next weekend's Grand Prix in Monza.
It was a real soap opera last weekend between Haas and former sponsor Uralkali. The Russian company demanded sponsorship money back from the American Formula 1 team. Otherwise, Haas's contents would be seized. Dutch authorities also became involved, and the team were prevented from leaving the country until payment was completed.
On Sunday morning, Haas confirmed that the debts had been paid off. This would mean that the team would be allowed to leave the country. However, later in the day, the team said that they had not yet received confirmation and that the trucks would, therefore, not be allowed to leave the Netherlands yet. Haas now confirms that the green light has been given to leave the Netherlands. From now on, the American team can prepare for the Italian Grand Prix, albeit slightly delayed by this saga.
