Norris reveals the details of how he celebrated astonishing Dutch GP win
Lando Norris partied hard after winning the Miami Grand Prix earlier in the 2024 Formula 1 season, but it seems he learned his lessons as the 24-year-old simply 'went to bed' after winning the Dutch Grand Prix.
Norris won his first Formula 1 race in Miami and was due to fly home almost immediately after. However, after advice from Lewis Hamilton and team boss Zak Brown, Norris stayed and partied hard into the night. Norris went wild with Verstappen until late at a night club in Miami. After a long night of celebrating his win in Miami, the McLaren driver also posted on his Instagram about his energy level which reported just 1% remaining.
How did Norris celebrate his win at the Dutch Grand Prix?
After Miami, Norris had an off weekend to recover. The turnaround is shorter this time, with just a few days separating the Grands Prix. Though Norris' win at Zandvoort was arguably more impressive as he best Verstappen by over 20 seconds. Still, the reaction was a lot calmer.
"Quite the opposite [to Miami] I just went back home and had dinner and went to bed. So not very exciting at all. But it was just a good feeling. And that's the most important thing," Norris said.
Norris will try to beat Verstappen again this weekend, but he suggests his win last week doesn't give himself extra confidence. "Monza's a very different track. It gives the team a good amount of confidence. And always a little bit of a boost, but it doesn't change your feeling. We know we've been performing well the whole year since Miami. We've been doing a very good job. And this was a weekend where everything just went perfectly," Norris added.
